The former mill liner handler had many hazards associated with the design and was causing safety incidents each time it was used. Also, the time to change out the mill liners was excessive.
Goldmont was asked to design and modify the liner handler to eliminate all associated hazards and to speed up the process.
- A hydraulic driven telescopic extension was incorporated in the liner handler to enable personnel to safely gain full reach inside the mill
- The liner dolly was modified to be hydraulically driven rather than being manually pushed into position.
- Stairways were modified to ensure personnel had safe entry into and egress from the mill.
